{"id":1127,"date":"2016-12-12T21:48:43","date_gmt":"2016-12-12T21:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/estudiocescas.iecs.org.ar\/en\/enfermedad-pulmonar-obstructiva-cronica-epoc\/"},"modified":"2017-09-12T16:07:10","modified_gmt":"2017-09-12T16:07:10","slug":"enfermedad-pulmonar-obstructiva-cronica-epoc","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/estudiocescas.iecs.org.ar\/en\/enfermedad-pulmonar-obstructiva-cronica-epoc\/","title":{"rendered":"Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\"><strong>PRISA Study (Pulmonary Risk in South America)<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Detection and follow up of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) and COPD risk factors in the Southern Cone<\/span><\/h1>\n<hr \/>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This population-based prospective cohort study about chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is currently being conducted in four Southern Cone cities: Marcos Paz and Bariloche (Argentina), Temuco (Chile), and Pando-Barros Blancos-Colonia Nicolich (Uruguay).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">PRISA will also allow us to study COPD-related conditions and the determining factors for lung function impairment over time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The study used multistage random sampling and enrolled over 4,000 adults (both men and women) between 45 and 74 years of age. Participants\u2019 health was assessed through questionnaires, spirometry, clinical measurements, and laboratory tests.
